Sally for City Council District 2

Hi Neighbors! I'm Sally, and I'm running for Provo City Council District 2 because I want to make sure every race includes experienced, well-balanced candidates. I believe we can make Provo the best college town in America — a place where people want to raise a family, start a career, retire, or attend a world-class university. District 2 is in the heart of it all!

WHO I AM

I've spent the last 10 years in finance, working for tech companies including Qualtrics and Adobe. I began my career in the nonprofit sector, running a program called Humanitarian Experience (HXP). I currently work for a software company that serves the restaurant industry, which has brought me closer to the day-to-day lives of small businesses.

I've lived in Provo for the past 8 years, raising my two daughters with my husband, Sam.

I hold a bachelor's degree in Government from Harvard University.

COLLABORATE

We've let partisanship overtake our ability to work together, be good neighbors and accomplish great things. I believe in strong leadership over politics and that good government includes listening to all sides and making careful decisions.

SERVE

Every unique group within Provo deserves to be served by elected leader of whether they've had clout in our community: students, retirees, small businesses, cyclists, young professionals, etc. All are uniquely important to our community and should be served by local leaders.

REPRESENT

Provo City Council should show up to represent it's people in all discussion, decisions and negotiations. Whether its developers proposing new projects or BYU expanding in the area, City Council should negotiate on behalf of the people it represents and negotiate on their behalf.

CIVICS

I talk to people every day who are disengaging in our political process because its become too stressful to even talk about. We need to regain enthusiasm for democracy and local governance by

VOTE!

Our local elections needs to have strong, well qualified candidates. This race has great candidates so you have lots of good options for your vote. Go and get as many voters in your neighborhood to cast a ballot

FINANCE

I work for CFO's to make businesses more efficient and successful. This always includes strong prioritization, thoughtful and sometimes hard decisions, and commitment to a shared vision.
